The focus of this workshop is helping students with disabilities succeed in the Common Core State Standards through the use of differentiation, specialized instruction, accommodations, and formative assessment.
In this workshop, two presenters model co-teaching lesson plans based on state standards while participants take part in lesson simulations. After each lesson, co-teachers debrief by identifying the strategies and supports modeled and discussing how they can adapt and apply the practices in their own classrooms. This workshop is designed for educator teams who have had previous training in co-teaching and understand how to establish a collaborative relationship and use basic co-teaching approaches.
There are two versions:
Primary/Elementary Level: Lessons modeled include Reading, Writing, Math and Social Studies.
Middle/High School Level: Lessons modeled include ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.
